Oct 20 Warm Wednesdays: Featuring Xplicit
Smooth, imaginative, sultry, cunning and eloquent could all be used to describe this poet, but one word is enough XPLICIT. A spoken word artist not originally from St. Louis , but poetically birthed here has taken the scene by storm with his high energy performance combined with an array of word play that has put this poet on the map. With a diverse range of pieces from touching personal experiences, to hard-hitting consciousness, and knee weakening love and erotic poems, his work truly captures the moment and paints a vivid picture in your mind. His growth and maturity as an artist can be found on his Debut CD “Realize and Relax.” The LP combines scintillating instrumentals with thought provoking spoken word to create a unique listening experience. Xplicit’s passion for poetry and spoken word is evident in his devotion and enthusiasm towards the art. Marshall "Soulful" Jones Is the love child of the unstoppable force and the immovable object. The poet, emcee, singer, songwriter, producer he carries of message of light and vibration. He has performed at numerous colleges (Virginia Tech,Suffolk etc) and Universities (Utah, Colorado, Illinois, Pace, Columbia etc) toured with the Nationwide Sphere of Influence Enviornmental Awareness/Ready tour ,shared a podium with the likes of Henry Louis Gates, Mia Farrow and Julius Garvey. He has also produced music for himself and others (HBO Def Jam Poets Shanelle Gabriel, Oveous Maximus, up and coming songstress Ava, former Barrio Boys member Angel Ramirez etc. Marshall Soulful Jones currently resides in Brooklyn New York.
